EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Saint Joseph the Worker is committed to providing high-quality 3K & Pre-K to our community.  SJWCA is part of the NYC Pre-K for All program. This is a tuition-free program that is based on high-quality early childhood education that helps children build a strong foundation of skills, knowledge, and approaches to learning that will be necessary to succeed in school and life.

Our 3K & Pre-K For All students experience learning through play-based learning centers such as Writing, Dramatic Play, Science, Blocks, etc...  The children spend a great deal of their time, exploring centers while building connections with their friends and teachers.  Our students experience a family-style breakfast and lunch on a daily basis.  Through this approach, they learn how to be a part of a community and share responsibilities for setting and cleaning the table.

Another big part of the 3K & Pre-K day is exploring their senses in our Sensory Room.  Here the children get to touch different textures and objects, use their imagination in the Friend’s Loft, and be creative with our light tables.  The children also go outside (weather permitting) for Gross Motor Play twice a day where they have a ton of fun strengthening their gross motor skills.  They will ride tricycles, build with gigantic Lincoln Logs, throw and catch with their friends, and so much more.

St. Joseph the Worker’s highly qualified faculty members are dedicated to their craft and our students. A good early childhood teacher will have a huge impact on not only a child’s early developmental milestones but their love for learning.
